I went to play a game a noticed this in the left corner of the screen.
It also appears on the other input mode so it's definitely the screen and not Windows software.

I have never seen this type of artefact before.
Should I be saving for a new screen or can I fix this?
Thank you.

Bit of a late reply, but my parents PC has an old samsung monitor (old enough to be backlit by CFL) and this is full of these issues, and they are now permanent. All of the tabs in browsers keep their goast lines forever now, and the cause of this is partly age but mostly the amount of time it has static on one image. I didn't until more recently understand the purpose of a screensaver, but it basically helps keep your display keep refreshing and prevents stuck pixels. Best not to always have any part of the screen illuminated in exactly the same way for much more than half any hour I'd say if you expect the display to last a very long time, but that is hard to avoid with task bars!
