Strange network adaptors problem

Hi all,

About 2 weeks ago I was logging into FF14 and was told my account was disabled due to odd activity. I then noticed the below listed in network adaptors

After disabling them I could log back in but on rebooting they are reenabled and I get the same problem. I have deleted them and drivers from device manager but they come back after a reboot. Not a lot online about this hence the request for help. Any ideas what has caused this and how I can resolve?

I am running Windows 10 but only upgraded from 8.1 a week ago so the problem copied over as well.

Check what software you've installed, some of them can add virtual network adapters, VPN, some AV etc.

These are normally associated to VPNs.. What internet security do you use? Are using Comodo?

I have not set up any VPN connections on this PC and not installed anything out of the ordinary. I have run a malwarebytes scan which came back clean. I run ESET NOD32 AV which has found nothing either.

So its more likely to be something that I have installed than something malicious?

Can you open the following folder...

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository

is there anything that starts with tap* ?

Are you using a KMS auto-activator?

Yes, Windows is legally activated though. Should I uninstall this and see if this resolves the problem?

So for office #wink? .. yes, try installing AutoKMS, then run ccleaner.. plus registry tool.. try that.. if the are still there, then try deleting them or removing them from device manager.

Thanks, so far so good! Odd that its been okay for 6+ months then started having this problem.

I think the AutoKMS opens up various tunnels as part of its' "get round activation" solution.

Either pay for office or just use www.office.com.
