Hello!
I'm having a bit of a weird issue networking at home, here. It seems I cannot access my shared network drive.
The problem started when I accidentally connected to my universities VPN from home. Initially I was unable to connect to the drive by accessing it by name, but was able to access it from its IP Address so I thought it might be some kind of DNS issues, but I can access the internets fine.
Shortly after that I was then unable to access the network drive even by its IP address. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and it seems that I can SEE the drive on the network but every time I go to access it I get a message saying the network path was not found.
I uninstalled the VPN software, the wireless card and the network card drivers and reinstalled them but the issue remains. I can't even ping anything on the network now either. We're also all part of the same home group and I have all the sharing settings on the system set up properly: file discovery on, sharing settings set without passwords etc. I also assigned my system an IP address cause I read somewhere that Win7 and DHCP is a bit iffy but that was useless.
Oh and the issue remains with both my third party firewall disabled and Windows firewall disabled.
I've been racking my brains about this for about two weeks now and I just can't seem to figure it out and either my Google-fu is weak or there's not much there about this particular issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
