Hi guys

When my PC is idle doing nothing the noise doesn't come but its pretty dis concerting when the PC heats up after gaming and the "noise" comes. Tried google but couldn't find anything similer so maybe one of you guys had a similer issue.

Not sure where it is coming from but it sounds like a drip followed by a sizzle. PC is water cooled so thought it could be a leak but i've checked it over and no leaks. Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

That is worrying! What is your current water cooling set up? Dripping noises can be common as air moves about but a sizzle isn't ! Have you checked everywhere? Including the blocks?

yeah closer inspection i cannot see ANY leaks or dripping fluid, seems to be coming from the pump/res combo. (XSPC D5/RES)

Sizzling would make me think of something powered.

Fans on the radiators, no leaks from the rads once the fluid is warm?
The pump itself?

(should have refreshed :p)

Looks like it may be the pump. That sort of noise you wouldn't expect from them so it may be faulty.

Hmm will contact XSPC see what they say, its damn annoying so want it sorted lol

Also would filling the res up more make any difference? Its just shy over 3/4 full atm.

Have never built a watercooling PC myself so I'm no expert. :p

I wouldn't expect a low/high filled reservoir to make any difference, no real harm in trying to empty some out and run it with about 1/4 or 1/3 full. To me though, it sounds like a noise from the pump that would indicate something is not right with it, although as you say its only once it has been on a while or once the water temperature has increased?

Have you noticed a drop in the water level?

More then likely is the radiator expanding when it heats up, are you able to post any pics of your setup?

Yeah here are some pics, no reply from XSPC yet.

Yeah been a year without dusting lol

It def comes from the pump area but is hard to record over the fan noise.

It sounds like it's sucking a air bubble through your pump to me and that's what your hearing.

Give your case a good shake around to try dislodging it.

Well i filled the res up to nearly full and shook the case a bit and seemed to of worked, played Rome 2 for 3 hours and no noise :)
