Strange Outlook problem

Hi Guys

A few days ago (Tuesday 13th was the last time) I managed to connect to my email via outlook 2003. Every time I try and conect I get a load of 'Unknown' error messages.

The weird thing is I can still downlaod and read the hotmail messagesbut can't send them via Outlook, or any other account (one is lineone.net the other is tiscali which i know are the same company).

ISP is Tiscali broadband (yeh i know!). Tried the Uninstall and reinstall to no avail. Checked all the settings. I can't find anything wrong!

Any suggestions greatfully received!

It's POP3 (except the hotmail).

Email addy removed but in the settings as correct.

IIRC Hotmal doesnt work via POP3. I think as Hotmail is HTTP based it uses IMAP.

I was only showing the Tiscali account settings. Hotmail downloads all messages perfectly but I can't connect to *** Tiscali servers and can't send via hotmail.

Have you tried pop.tiscali.co.uk (not pop3.tiscali.co.uk), and enabled outgoing server authentication?

Worth a try. Will do that tommorrow.

Still seems strange that one day it works and the next it doesn't!

And still doesn't explain why I can't send from hotmail.

Nope. Neither suggestion worked.

Any ideas before I give in and try a complete reinstall?
