Strange problem with integrated intel graphics

Hello, doing new build, using i5 2500 together with Intel DH67CL board. I need to be able to use the integrated GPU but have following problem:

First time powered on, DVI from monitor was plugged to DVI on mobo, no picture. Tried to put some discrete card on (nv 6600GT - pretty old hehe) suddelny everything worked

Tried messing in bios -> video settings, various combinations, e.g. set primary VGA to intel integrated, set to auto, manual etc. nothing seem to have worked. OK something helped a little, like I could get a signal from integrated card but only if discrete card was plugged in as well. (wth ??) After I removed discrete card the PC would then either have no video signal or wouldn't even start (after pressing power button no fan started to spin or all fans started to spin for a while and then stopped. Then again started to spin for a while and stopped. And so on. Wth ??)

So I attached disks and installed windows with discrete card as primary. Then flashed to latest BIOS, which is 0105 from 03/01/2011 but it seems not much has changed. OK something has changed: now with windows installed if I remove the discrete card and use output from integrated VGA then entire POST time I have no video signal. But once windows starts loading than magically everything works and I can see windows startup screen and work in windows normally. However I can not do any changes in BIOS or see anything during POST as the screen is completely black. Again - wth ?? I completely don't understand this. Is the board somehow broken or any other idea ? Or is it "as desgined" that you can not see video during POST ?

Good... the issue has been sorted out. Don't ask me how because I don't know - just suddenly it started to work correctly. I don't get it but at least it's OK now.

Btw another strange thing. This board has default target CPU temp equal about 80 deg C Is it safe ? CPU was hitting this temp in prime 95 (while the fan was spinning like 1300 rpm) - if this is set by Intel in Intel board for Intel CPU does it than mean it's OK ? I very much doubt it, when I changed the target temp to 65 or so it will stay close to 65C in prime 95 @ 2300 rpm. I find this to be better even if it's louder.
