Strange problem with mouse

Hi all,

Hope someone can shine some light on the problem I'm having. I am using Windows 8 64 bit ( I know, why did I do that) and my spec is:

I7 3770k
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
16 gig teamgroup RAM
antec Kuhler 920 cooler
Haf X full tower
Corsair AX860 platinum
MSI Lightning Boost 7970

When I log onto the PC, the mouse cursor vanishes. If I reboot, it usually resolves the issue. On occasions it hasn't, but with enough reboots will eventually resolve the issue.

Checking the mouse drivers (RAT7 mouse), and uninstalling them and reinstalling with latest drivers from cyborg website the problem still occurs. I've tried not installing the RAT7 drivers and instead using the standard USB drivers. Still no luck - I'm guessing it is a Windows 8 problem as I never had the issue on my windows 7 build. Anyone had this issue before?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, before I installed the RAT7 driver I could resolve the issue by removing the mouse cable and plugging it back in. This doesn't work now since the RAT7 driver. It is extremely annoying. I have a lot of gaming profiles for the RAT or I'd just use the standard USB driver

Don't use the Cyborg drivers, they cause more problems than they fix. Using the basic windows ones will be fine, but you don't get profiles.

Failing that, get a new mouse. The R.A.T series are awful. I've had 2 and hated the both.
