Moved things round not too long ago which meant unplugging the mains of the xbox completely for about 3 days. Haven't used it up until now but it has now developed the following problems...

A) it won't connect to my 32" full hd LG tv
B) No controllers will connect (even the wired windows/xbox one which I someone's use if I'm out of battery)

Gone through some xbox support stages, psu seems ok and is turning green on startup. And tv recognises that a device is connected via hdmi but after a few seconds of "connecting" says no signal

Any of you know what's causing these problems and how to fix?

My fiancé just came home wih gow3 and I can't play it :( Bad times haha

FYI it is an elite about 3 years old and previously repaired and apparently modified by ms to combat future heating issues whatever that means :S

Have you got a component cable you could try instead of HDMI?

Also maybe worth a punt:
To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, remove any discs from the disc tray. Turn the console off and turn it back on. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings, and then automatically restarts the console. Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left quadrant light illuminated.

TV sorted, i had the bad luck of having 3 (YES 3) faulty HDMI cables!

Ahhh!

Controllers still arent working but Ill update when ive found a solution for that.

At least you have the tv working :)

Do you know anyone else with a 360? Try syncing the controllers with their xbox to see if they connect, do the whole press the button on the xbox then the little button on top of the remote thingy...

About this (Just cleaning out my subscriptions folder lol)...

On mine, the 360 doesn't even launch until the TV is connected, and controllers don't sync properly until I switch my TV over to the HDMI channel that it is connected to. (I can literally leave it on for 5 mins, however the start up screen and boot up will not commence until it is connected.

Once the TV was back on it took a few attempts but it worked after a while.

This was a new feature that came with the new update last year as far as the on-line Microsoft chat could tell me.

Yeah the Xbox is rather temperamental about devices its connected to, I have mine connected via HDMI to an AV receiver but even if I switch my TV off whilst using it to listen to music on Last.FM, the Xbox restarts. Utterly stupid.
