someone built a pc for my mate and he fooked it up and i had to put it in another case and everything started up but it keeps turning off saying the cpu is too hot its saying its 105 degrees it starts at like 90c then goes up to about 108!

now there is no possible way it can get that hot within 1 minute it dont even feel that hot and its not even a working safe tempereture!!

now here is the spec

intel duelcore2 2.4ghz processor
asus p593 deluxe mobo
1gb geil ddr ram

now any ideas what can be up ?

Might sound a little silly but remember that you can't re-use tim, if you reseat the HSF then you will neeed to clean off all the old stuff (i find kitchen roll works) and a new application of tim is needed

You got me mate, don't have a clue whats going on ?

Sorry

All I can think of is its too overclocked, naff HS/Fan or naf mobo giving off wrong temps or a bit extreme it has no thermal paste.

I would suggest getting into contact with whoever made the system and tell him to replace it.

What cooler is on it? If you can get into BIOS make sure the correct voltages are going through it, are those temps in BIOS? is so it might be a dodgy sensor and you will ahve to get it replaced.
