Strange problem!

Last night i was on my pc (Not literally!!) and i was scrolling on a web page when all of a sudden the pc froze and the screen went white with diagonal lines all across it!! This only happened once. I had to reboot the pc.

Sometimes, too, when i start my pc i get the Tower light and HD light on but the screen stays black? I have to reboot and then all is fine!

Is this a TFT problem?

I have a 17" Xerox TFT, Onboard graphics, TJ08 Case, AM2 5200 CPU, 4g Ram.

It's unlikely to be your TFT, the issues are probably down to either your on-board VGA or RAM.

What O/S, motherboard and RAM do you have and how many times has your PC frozen like you describe above?

Vista 64bit, Gigabyte GA-M68SM-S2, Geil ddr2 value ram, 4g.

The white screen only once so far. The black screen, a few times. Temps are fine 30 idle.

sounds very likely a problem with your On-board graphics.
try reinstalling the drivers

do you know anyone with a dedicated graphics card you could try?

the only other thing i can suggest is trying to borrow a graphics card to see if that cures it ,
(must type quicker lol)

I did think it was either the On-Board Graphics or the Memory. I could take out 2 strips and see what happens?
