Hey guys,
I’ve been steadily overclocking my E2160 over the last four days or so and I’ve now got a 3 GHz (9x333) 10+ Orthos stable cpu
I intend to go that little bit further next week and try to hit 3.2, but for now I’ve got work to do… Anyway, I stopped using my machine at about 4 today and I’ve just got back in and turned it on only for it to go through its little routine it likes to give me when it’s not happy with my bios settings? You switch on, in lights up, goes off, lights up, goes off and then boots but with the cpu back to stock settings (9x200). The rest of my bios settings remain, which is a considerable improvement from my last mobo – if there was a bios problem it was case open, clear cmos etc.
All I had to do was change the cpu/memory timing settings back to manual (from auto) and it was fine – booted straight up? It might have been a one off, but I thought I’d ask here and see if anyone here has had anything similar happen to them – I’m always reassured knowing I’m not on my own
Atm I have 1.375v going through the cpu, 2.1v through the ram (1:1 divider) and +0.01 on the fsb and mch. Do you think the fsb/mch should be raised at all?
Cheers people,
SW.
