just installed my new motherboard, asus maximus formula II p45. using the same hardware from my previous system which is/was in full working order.
the problem i am having is one i have never experienced. i am ale to get to the bios and change everything i need, but its all default except the boot sequence which i have change to the dvd drive booting first so i can install vista. however once it has passed the post it is stuck on a black screen with an underscore flashing in the top left corner. nothing else is happening.
the dvd drive is being detected as i can hear it spin up to read the disc, this lasts for about 15 seconds then nothing. i have built many systems before but have never come across this.
anyone got ideas? would be nice to get it up an running
