im trying to format my pc my hdd is showing in the bios yet when i load win7 it says no drives found.

any help would be great.

Make sure the drives are connected to the native Intel ports (grey and blue ports) and not the Marvell controlled ones (navy blue ports).

The cables are in the same ports when I formatted it the last time the drive is showing in the bios just on the where do you want to install windows screen it says no drives were found

Try unplugging the SSD and see if that works? Might be because the SSD and HDD is currently in "RAID" together at the moment.

tried that too no joy sod it just installed the os to the ssd and my steam folder ect to the hdd

unplug your ssd then install os on hdd,set to raid in the bios first

then add in your ssd on intel sata3 port, then install intel rst drivers and console and enable acceleration on the hdd,and thats it

I know how to set it up it's just for some reason when I set it to raid it won't see the drive.

I even reset the CMOS. As I said I've set it up before with no problems just this time it don't want to know. Maybe the mobo is on the blink.

As you know I had exactly same prob, On install, windows judt didn't detect the hdd although it was connected and visible in the bios, this only occured in raid mode and was frustrating because I also wanted ssd cach.

After several attempts to install windows with sata mode in raid it very strangely all of a sudden detected the hdd.

This can't be right as all the above suggestions were tried and all hardware was set up properly and I was only doing a fresh install.

I have exactly the same mobo, hdd and ssd as gazzaa. Bleeding pc's never do what they should. Would be nice if the problem could be resolved though.
