I am running Windows 7 on a SSD and have a Samsung HD502HJ 500GB Drive for back up. The other night I accidently pressed the 'Sleep' button on my keyboard.
The computer went to sleep and I resumed it a few mins later but ever since the Samsung drive will not wake up. I have to unplug the power connection to the drive and plug it back in, it then spins up and 'autoplay' pops up on the screen and I can see and use the drive again.

This does not happen if I do a restart. It only happens when I shut the PC down and start it up again. I have tried putting the PC to sleep and waking it up again.

I have searched google but cannot seem to find anything relating to this, maybe using the wrong search term

Does anyone know how to fix this please.
Thank you.

it could be a bios bug with sleep idk, tried the drive on a different sata port?

usually sleep issues are down to memory setting not right or a bios bug,it saves and resumes the sleep state to and from your memory

Yes I have tried every spare port and still does the same.
I have tried looking through the setting in bios but tbh there is that many settings in the new UEFI BIOS
Thanks for the help, will keep looking in bios.

ps nice robocop sig.... no Clarence no

haha yh

only other thing to try is to pop out the motherboard battery for 30 minutes to fully clear the cmos then try

this will reset/wipe all bios settings to default so make a note of them beforehand, and re enter settings later

I reset to default already to try that and it did not work also. But I did not take the battery out. Will try that next then cheers.
