Discovered a strange puncture in my tyre this morning - no debris in the hole, hole looks small, but puncture is incredibly fast - you can hear the air whistling out of it.

I managed to get the tire inflated and limp the bike the 15 miles home, but it was totally flat again a couple of hours later when I went to go to work.

Possible faulty tyre? *1 It just seems really weird that there's nothing in the hole.

*1 Only had the tyre on the bike for 2-3 weeks

Just the tyre puncture lottery by the sounds of it. Doubt it would be a faulty tyre, there was nothing in the hole of my puncture, and that was pretty a fast puncture as well.

I feel your pain, my tyre was only a few months old when i had quite possibly the most random puncture ever.

A 5.56mm Blank casing.

I was on an RAF camp at the time, still its not the kind of thing that is usually lying around. It did well to get lodged in like that!

I've had the rear tyre on a Fazer 1000 plugged, it was absolutely fine - my commute on that bike was a pretty much dead straight, high speed A road run and I rode just like normal on it. If a reputable tyre place are happy to plug it, then it'll be fine :)
