I recently ran into a problem where XP wouldn't boot, so I deleted the boot.ini file using Bootcfg in dos, and rebuilt it. XP now boots much faster. When it show s the XP logo in Dos, the bar passes about 2 and a half times before it moves on. Where as it used to take about 15 times!

Isn't this odd?

Perhaps the original Boot.ini was buggered in some way causing Windows to muck about while booting. Rebuilding it may have got rid of said buggerment lol.
