This is an odd one, I have a backup computer running win7 64.
I've stuck an Hitachi 250gb 8mb cach Sata 2 hdd as the boot drive, set to AHCI.
I've also stuck an old Maxtor diamond max 9 ide drive in.
Running crystal mark the Maxtor is out performing the Hitachi, and if I switch to IDE mode for the Hitachi, then it out performs the AHCI settings.
All drivers are up to date, any ideas??
