So I get up to go to the toilet... leave the door slightly open...It's silly o'clock and everyone's sleeping so what ever. Now I'm sure I hear something like some one opening their door so I turn to check how open the door is, but its only a bit so its all good. Now here comes the strange part... instead of going into my room which is next to the toilet on the right I walk across the landing to my housemates room, which for one reason is open.

I've got no idea why I would, other than to think I thought I was downstairs and going into my gf's room. When I get into his room, I think I got really confused, because of the.room layout... his bedside cabinet is on the left...in my gf room its on the right. So I tried to turn the light on but couldn't find the switch because I've been in his room like 3 times or something. Now I finally see him in bed and get even more confused, I'm sure I tried to say something like "oh, sorry James, wrong room", but I just couldn't talk. So now I've realised I'm in the wrong room so I go back to mine.

Must have been 30 minutes later I wake up and think 'what the ****, must have been a dream'. And I'm 100% sure it was because I can remember getting into bed and lying there hearing the extractor fan going and then turning off. And I didn't think about it at all until 20 mins a go until I heard 2 of my housemates talking outside my room about strange noises last night and then the lad who's room I went into saying about the above.

I don't understand why I would go into his room... I've only ever sleep walked once before in my life and that was when I was really young and I'm pretty sure I wasn't this time because I was awake when I went to the toilet. Unless I some how fell asleep as I stepped out of the bathroom.... very confusing.

Similar thing happened to me when I was at university, think I fell asleep, or at least into some semi-conscious state as I was emptying my bladder.

Unfortunately I'm not gay. The strangest thing though is that my mate locks his door when ever he leaves his room. And I mean like any time, if he goes to the kitchen to get a glass of water, or jumps in the shower then he will lock his door. But doesn't when he goes to sleep.

The brain shifts throgh gears when it wakes and sleeps. Sometimes those gear changes become a bit stuck, or muddled. Have a look at hypnogogic and hypnopompic states.

I've managed to doze off on the loo before. Got up, went to the toilet, and shortly after heard 'are you okay?' coming from the bedroom as my wife wondered where I was. Well it wasn't just 'shortly', apparently I was there for about half an hour, blotto on the toilet. :D

i'd explain you were still half asleep and accidently went to the wrong room by mistake!

or they think your gay and start buying locks

My strange sleeping event last night was coming in from a Bike Rally rather drunk, going up to bed at around 3am but visting the toilet first, pulling the wash basket in front of me and putting a couple of towels on it, waking up at 4:50 am :)

Oddest sleep related event I've had recently was a few weeks ago...

I got woken by my Mum shouting "CHRIS!!!" at the top of her voice as she usually does when I've overslept (I'm staying with my Olds for a bit while between rentals) so I leapt out of bed thinking "bugger, I've done it again..." and hurried to the bathroom to get in the shower. Half way there I realise my Mum is nowhere to be seen, the house is silent and it's 4am... spooky.

Took me a little while to get back to sleep again that night!

Must be ghosts..... . . i remember the cararvan holidays when i was younger. My sis would full on smack me in the face shouting my name but would always claim it was sleep-rage/walking. Naturally things escalated over the years with me sticking lego technic motors in her hair & her smacking my head with a hammer. At some point we grew up & she stopped 'attending' family holidays to get ****ed in Spain.

You and your girlfriend sleep in different rooms?

Quite weird.

Me and my girlfriend are thinking of moving in together with 2/3 other people, but we're still wanting a seperate rooms for our own space and stuff :)

But we wouldn't sleep in seperate rooms!

Someone i know went to the toilet on his girlfriends mums bedside table in the middle of the night while she was sleeping right next to him. Apparently they wernt very happy with him. I should add that he was drunk too.

That's not as stupid as it sounds actually, try different rooms ("yours or mine tonight?" :p), have rough rumpy-pumpy, then head off to your own bed and get a much better night's sleep with no-one farting, kicking you etc etc.

First thing I noticed when I split with the ex was how well I slept with the bed to myself.

I had gone out, didn't get back until 2. She wasn't happy that I was going out so locked her door. :D

Aha! :D You like 'em stropy eh? ;)

That's why I like having a big bed... hug 'n' roll and you have a big area to yourself! ;) Though like you, I do enjoy having the bed to myself with the occasional visitor, I can handle one or two nights a week with less sleep! :D
