Just started steam up for the first time in months and i have Team Fortress 2 ready to install? Im now installing it. But i havent purchased it and nobody has gave me it as a gift as far as i know :S.

I bought it and I can't play it because steam constantly locks up my PC after a minute or two, have to wait for a platform update I think. Valve offer the bare minimum of support, terrible.

Yeah you have to just leave Steam after you launch it for the first time because it can take several minutes to update and stops responding, I killed the task a few times then eventually just left it and once it had updated it was fine.
I have got a problem with steam, when i click on steam in my start menu the user name and password window does not appear, although steam is running in task manager processes list (it seems to work sometimes and sometimes it does not work). It is becoming annoying now as i have a few games on there that me and my mum like to play.
