I've recently started having an issue, where if i play a video from one source, i.e Youtube, it plays as it should, then, if i try playing a video from another source, in this case, a video on my hard drive, the video starts playing at literally 2 FPS and the only way to fix it is to reboot.

Anyone had this issue before? Any fixes. Asus Strix Z370 / 32gb RAM / 1080TI ROG / 512gb Samsung 960 EVO

Do you have any video capture software installed on your machine?

You could try booting from a Linux live environment and then testing?
No

I've just been watching something on 4OD, worked perfect for about half an hour, then suddenly started stuttering :( Frustrating AF!

Edit. I was watching on firefox, tried again on Crhrome, exactly the same :(

Why not open up task manager and look at what your hardware is doing?

I've just done this and i've found the source of the problem. It was stuttering as it has been, so i closed the 'audiodg.exe' process and it started working properly, however, about 15 minutes later, it started doing it again, so i closed it again and it fixed it again. Need to find a permanent fix though. Any suggestions?

What Journey suggested seems to have fixed it, i never had any issues yesterday after doing that, and i watched a few tv episodes on and offline.

Could be a codec issue.
Download the k-lite codec pack and reinstall the lot of them. might be the issue.

This is rarely a fix for anything. All it does is plonk a load of un-needed codecs onto your PC which could mess up other programs. If you need a codec, always download the one you want.
