Hi,

My vista x64 total hard drive usage is 80.2gb, however im only using as far as i know about 25gb of this space, the remaining 55gb seems to be in a hidden directory "Documents and Settings" which i dont have access to, nor can i give myself access to.

Heres a screenshot of everything in c:\ (with os files and hidden files shown), that come to a total of 25gb as shown, i cannot access the docs and settings shortcut, so i assume it must be linked to the other myster 55gb? or could it be something else?

EDIT: i also cannot see where the docs & settings shortcut is pointing to...

Thanks for any help,

Jack

Right click the drive, properties, disk cleanup, files from all users.

On this first page check to see if you have a lot of memory dumps/error reports.
Also click the more options tab at the top and then in system restore and shadow copies click cleanup. This will remove all but the most recent system restore, and will probably get you a lot of this space back.
