I have a laptop (Compaq Presario F500) that is making a very strange whining noise.
The old hard drive died (totally non-recoverable) so a new hard drive was fitted (Wester Digital) and the OS reloaded.
The laptop has a very strange whining noise - hard to explain apart from that it's a whining noise
I've made a small video of it - turn your speakers up a little, the whining should be clearly audible at points when the screen is blank. (Odd?)
Now I'm thinking that there may be more that just the hard drive fault.
