Hello folks,
At my caravan I am running a Huawei mifi router. If I put my Samsung phone into flight mode, my Samsung tablet loses internet. In the settings it says it's connected to the router without Internet.
What can cause this?
I don't recall ever having it before but I rarely put my phone into flight mode. I haven't rebooted the router yet as I'd like to see if there is a way of fixing it without rebooting.
Cheers
Phil

Does the router work with any other device other rhan the tablet?
Hello, thanks for the reply.

It affects my wife's ipad too.
If I put my Samsung tablet into flight mode my phone won't even connect to the router.
If my wife puts her ipad into flight mode it doesn't affect the Samsung devices.
1. Samsung phone in flight mode = Samsung tablet and ipad connect to router but no Internet.
2. Samsung tablet in flight mode = Samsung phone won't even connect to router, "couldn't find ip address", ipad connects to router with no Internet.
3. Ipad in flight mode = no issues with Samsung devices.
Cheers

Give the router a bounce, it'll take a few minutes to reboot and will help you with your troubleshooting. :) Other thought I had was are the two Samsung devices (The phone and tablet) somehow interlinked and flight mode on one impacts the other and vice versa. I'm not even sure if that is a thing but was my only thought. I don't believe I've ever seen anything ever do that before.

Sounds odd are you sure it hasn't been paired with a hotspot on your phone at somepoint and is connecting to that by default instead of the mifi?

Delete the WiFi connections on the tablets, turn the hotspot off on your phone, reboot the mifi router then re connect the tablet to the router.

It has occasionally but the hot spot turns off after a time of non use.
Been using it for five years with no issue, same circumstances.

Well this almost sounds like they were either using the Samsung phone as a hot spot or as the DNS server...

This sounds like the routers DHCP and / or DNS isn't working or something else is using the same channel as the router.

Putting any one of the devices in flight mode should have zero impact on everthing else if they are connecting to the router...

I'd reboot the router, delete wifi connection on devices and re connect them then if still didn't work and its one of those mini portable mobile routers and you have 240v at the caravan I'd consider picking up a second hand 4G/5G router but its a bit of a minefield.

You don't have some weird parental control app installed thats managed from the Samsung tablet?
