Hi,
I used to play my DVDs on my laptop through Intervideo WinDVD 8. But when that stopped working for whatever reason I started using Windows Media Player 11. Now, I have encountered a strange problem in that the dialogue parts of the DVD audio tracks seem to be significantly decreased in volume whereas music, explosions and loud noises in general seem to reamain unaffected. Basically, to compensate for the poor noise level of dialogue I turn my 2.0 speakers up to ridiculous levels just to hear what is being said by the on screen characters only for 2 minutes later to be deafened by loud music being played on screen. It's definately Windows Media Player 11 that has the problem as the DVDs work fine through my Xbox360 and Playstation 2. And it is definately not a problem with the actual DVDs as the laptop has been producing poor audio levels for several DVDs. I have checked that all audio sound levels have been turned up everywhere and the problem as I have said only seems to affect the dialogue (or so it would appear) I am using codecs etc and cannot seem to figure out why on earth it is playing the DVDs so quietly. Any help at all is very much appreciated!!!
Thanks!
