strategy pc games

Also, we want to see:
Age of Mythology 2,
Age of Empires 4 - start the game in stoneage again with dinosaurs- RAWR!
Rise of Nations 2
Company of Heroes 2 (wip methinks?)
Star Wars Total War meets Eve Online and mated with Civ's research - or possibly a decent Star Wars Supreme Commander in Company of Heroes detail & cover system, with Civ 4 /Total War style campaigns?
A zombie-survival defence tower rts?

Loved age of mythology! have the Collectors edition somewhere. But definitely wouldn't mind an AOE game returning to the original setting. Loved those games as I love turtling.

Starcraft and Starcraft 2. I dont really like RTS but Starcraft 2 is definately the best RTS ever made. Near perfect balance, fast pace, great graphics and sound.

Redalert and Redalert 2 also worth a mention

Red Alert 2 was very good, I liked the mixture of real units and totally insane-over-the-top ones. There was a cracking mod which added CnC 2 (Tiberian somethingorother withMichaelBiel) and even more insane stuff. Shame they made CnC3 engine difficult to mod.

Star Wars Supremacy was an under rated stratagy game.

do this if you have 40 hours or so to kill :D

I agree though, its a great stratgey game, mulitplayer can be lame because people can exploit things in the game which just really aren't fair to do, but computers can be a bit iffy aswell.

Unless I've missed them, my favourite strategy games haven't been mentioned yet: Commandos 1-3, Desperados, and the first two Jagged Alliance games.

Favourite ever:

Red Alert 2

Then the ones I really enjoyed

SupCom 1
Forged Alliance
Dawn of War series (upto Dark Crusade)
Dawn of War 2 (Haven't played Chaos Rising yet, working my way there)
Civilization 4
Men of War

Dawn of War 2, although not classic strategy, is fantastic if you look at it from the Canon perspective, the few against the vaste hordes of xeno's and heretics.

Edit:

Oh, and for the op, another good turn based strategy game worth looking at is Heroes of Might & Magic 5

Age of empires, Theme Park, Roller Coaster Tycoon...

Where have all the good RTS games gone? (barring SC2 of course!) Think ive racked up over 10 hours of playing time already in SC2 and thats just the beta. 10 hours might not sound like much but I generally go on my pc for the net and music. A quick 15 minute game on Starcraft soon turns into two 30 minute sessions!

Homeworld. Sublime.

My other biggy would be Civ 4. Superb.

Finished Chaos Rising yesterday, fun, if short... I've now started World in Conflict Complete. Undecided about this one so far.

Star Wars Supremacy was an under rated stratagy game.

Woo. Another die hard! ;)

Not played it yet either - like you I am a little scared!

Paradox games are generally excellent, my favourite is crusader kings.

Wait for the Semper Fi expansion. HOI 3 is playable and potentially a superb game, but it's just too messed up in so many areas. Paradox might just work their expansion magic again though. Fingers crossed!

As above, CoH is awesome!! Homeworld is truely fantastic, it's old but if you like strategy games and you've not played it, you have to!

Homeworld 2 is also good, and I haven't played it, but Homeworld Cataclysm is also meant to be great.

Anoth I've not played but heard good things about is Sins of a Solar Empire.

Oh, and Demi God?
