Hi again guys!

Just a quick one really, just wondering if there is anyway to stream from a PC to another PC, the main PC (with the games on) must do all the hard work, and the second PC must just relay it via the router really. The second PC is the PC that will have the controller connected too, not sure if its possible but i must be able to control the game using the second PC.

First PC specs:
i7 3770 CPU
MSI GTX 980 OC
16GB RAM

Second PC specs:
Celeron G1610 CPU
On Board GPU
8GB RAM

So yeah, is it even possible? If so what do i need? :D

are the games you are playing through steam? this has streaming abilities but never tried them to be honest

Mainly steam and origin. I'd heard of something called Moonlight which uses the fe force experience but I'd rather not just install random things in hope it works.. Was hoping someone may have either a separate tool that they could recommend or give me an insight to how moonlight works :)

So, basically using that I can play my games on a relatives pc which has a celeron and an old 8800GTS, but at the same settings I do on my own desktop pc? I take it the host pc would need to be on?

I think (although I havent tried) that anything launched through Steam can be played over Steam In Home Streaming.

Actually, give me 5 minutes and I test it...

Yes you can stream non Steam games. Although it may be a bit hit and miss. GTA5 Launches, but then falls over as it runs Social Club through Streaming and then drops that and plays the game locally.

But it launches from a non-Steam shortcut, so that's working.

Yes host PC has to be on :p I stream from my main PC to a HP Microserver N36L with a Radeon HD 5450 (on a wired network) through Steam and it works fine.

The only issue you might have is with the on-board GPU.

I use Steam Streaming here at home too, but I had to install a cheap HD 5450 as the onboard GPU couldn't handle high-bitrate video stream from the host PC.

Yes but I wouldn't recommend over an internet connection. I have a silent and tiny Acer Revo under my TV which streams everything I throw it perfectly. The only limitation is the speed of your network.

I tried this to my Mac. It was jittery here and there.

So yea, home network matters, I use a home plug and the PC connects to that wirelessly.

Steam streaming aside from that is bloody brilliant.

I keep meaning to try the Steam home streaming between this monster gaming pc ( ;) )and my old Opteron 165 system used by my better half.

Sorry, I did reply to this thread last night, but it was during the midnight forum database wobble and it never actually posted.

Yes you can run non Steam games through In Home Streaming if they are launched from within Steam using a shortcut.

I don't know why but my old i5 laptop struggles to stream games but my Atom powered Surface 3 runs them flawlessly.

Bear that in mind if you want to stream to an older machine.
