i can stream 2gb files easily 4 just about and 8 keep getting stuck..

Im using W7 to W7 via a file share at the moment which lets me stop and start if it gets stuck.

Is there a way to stream it so I can pause the film and it keep downloading the film from the main machine thats streaming it?

seems an obvious feature, are there any settings in media player or software that will jsut continue to buffer the file so when the wireless is not quite up to the job I can pause the film for 10 mins then start again, but in the 10 mins its downloaded a GB so its not going to have another issue.

In VideoLAN for example, if you go to the settings then show all settings (bottom left), then Input/Codecs > Access modules > SMB (Samba aka Windows File Sharing) you can adjust your caching figure. The higher the figure the more of the file it will read ahead.

You should be able to do similar in other players.
