Street Fighter 4 Arcade Stick? Which 1?

SFIV is the first fighting game I have got in to in any depth, but am seriously enjoying it. Especially liking the theorycrafting etc., behind the game - So much more detailed than I thought these games ever were.

Either way, I have been playing up until now with a standard 360 controller, and its doing my head in. I cant use the DPad on it, as I just end up jumping around the whole time, and the analog stick seems far from reliable at responding to my inputs. So, Im looking to get a stick.

My only worry is that I do nt play with a table that I could put the stick on, is that an issue? is it possible to play with the stick on my lap? Or, alternatively - Would I be better off with the Madcatz SFIV DPad affairs?

That was from Gremlin or Arcadeshop.de?

If Gremlin then that's great! Around 2 weeks to wait then, hopefully. :)

Gremlin. My arcadeshop order has just been dispatched :p

Theorycraft? Do we have another StarCraft fan in the console forum? I use the madcatz SE, Hori EX2 and my custom stick on my lap with absolutely no issues, although you may want to avoid a TE for lap use as it's un-necessarily bulky.

Will I notice a huge difference in potential between using a stick, and the Madcatz SF pad? Finding it hard to justify £80 on a stick, that I can imagine being rather awkward to use.

There will always be great fighting games so think of it as a long term thing.

This year alone you have blazblue tekken 6 and king of fighters 12 on the horizon.

It's like saying I find it hard to justify £150 on a g25 racing wheel for GRID.

I also have ordered plenty of times from Gremlin. The service is very good indeed.. I bought my X-Arcade from them as well as a lot of adapters and will be replacing my Stick with a Sanwa soon.. :)

Using premium quality arcade parts straight out of official Street Fighter IV arcade machines, the Pro Fighting Stick offers precise controls that only a real arcade cabinet can match.

Pretty sceptical of that at £34.99 to be honest! The Sanwa buttons and joystick alone are about £30 and must cost £15-20 odd for shops to buy from Sanwa directly.

I sent another email to the people I've got one of my TE stick orders with the other day in the hope that they may have at least heard some information from Madcatz about stock. As suspected they hadn't but they gave me 2000 points on my reward card as compensation for the wait. I was quite chuffed with myself when I read the email originally as I thought that equated to £50 in credit. Turns out it's actually £5 instead which is better than nothing I guess. :p

At that price i'd rather fork out the extra £30ish for a SE madcatz and sanwa parts. The main attraction of the Hori for me is that its RRP is £30, making it the best budget stick out there, paying double that seems a tad pricey.

Does anybody know where to get the hori stick for £30?I've looked all over the internet but can't find one at that price.I've found the hori real arcade pro for £100 which looks to be a decent stick, although maybe too pricey for me.
