Street Fighter V.S. Tekken

Can anybody give me a tip on doing Kazuya's wave dash? I see some people online doing it repeatedly in a matter of seconds, what am I missing here? I can't unlock this guy's full potential until I figure it out.

Fastest way to do the first one is F, QCF and then just keep spamming QCF to keep going.

Like most people are saying I'm having difficulty getting a feel for this game, there's no specific way to "get in" to use other than jumping like a loon or mincing around at footsie range. Most Tekken characters have really garbage anti airs so you can just jump at them all day it's kinda sad.

I honestly think the tier list will basically be based around the character's quickest startup normal. Some characters don't have a 3f startup normal which will kill them as a lot of things are negative on block, so if you don't have a 3f startup move you're going to get counterhit by someone that does.

For Kazuya's flaws, he's fun to play so I'm making it work for now and Asuka looks godlike on paper but I need to get a good feel for her.

jumping around like crazy is ridiculously effective in this game against anyone without a dp. tekken characters have no defence, anti-air and slow normals, they get rush down for free once other guy ignore footsies and jump all day, which makes me really sad because i really dont want to play sf characters.

it amazes me how capcom give sf characters better normals, tools all round and expect tekken characters to get in with their slow moves, 6 frame jabs, move and chains that ends with minus 10 or something.

Think I may have to go team DERP: Ryu/Rufus.

Here's the damage I worked out for Rufus in the past hour:

Air to Air:
0 Meter: 210
1 Meter: -
2 Meter: 411
3 Meter:-

Mid Screen:
0 Meter: 264
1 Meter: 455
2 Meter: -
3 Meter: 593

Corner:
0 Meter: 427
1 Meter: -
2 Meter: 513
3 Meter: 593

I thought Tekken characters may have been underpowered when the game was announced. The capcom characters are far better suited to a 2d beat 'em up.

I've been having moderate success with Ryu/Steve. I basically whoop players who are playing the game like SF2 and get my ass whooped by players who are playing it like SFxT. :p

I think I'll stick to Ryu as my main for now but am going to try out Kazuya as my partner. He seems pretty badass.

You reckon I would be better starting Akuma with Kazuya backing him up? I have it the other way around at the minute.

I dont know these characters well enough to answer really but my gut tells me that Akuma would be better on point. I would think his normals and pokes are good to confirm in to launchers and switch cancels. Doesnt Kazuya have a good mixup game though?

I wouldn't invest too much time into thinking of character order as part of strategy at this point in time. Your point character is going to have to come out if they take too much damage anyway.

i think you need to start a strong point character so you dont get mauled. it is very easy to get mauled and lose very quickly to constant jumpin and rush down in this game.

anyway, i have been trying vega for a while now and his close range game is so much better than sf4, its probably one of the best in the game (what a contrast to just one frame link jabs and throw in sf4). shame he has poor anti-air and no reversals.

hyv, if every character had great AA's and reversals then they wouldn't play differently. Vega has an awesome game from footsie and in-your-face range. If you gave his excellent AA's and wakeup moves where would his weakness be?

even if they gave him a real reversal and an anti-air that actually works he still has low life (950), his claw and mask falls off after one blocked rolento bnb, low damage and his doesnt have a cross up.

Guys any tips on a general set of starting gems? Playing as Rolento and Ryu - Getting my bum handed to me some games.

Gems won't make much difference, but if you're just starting stick 2 vitality gems on if you have the pre order bonus for it. Gives you 120 or 140 extra health in each round per character which is more beneficial than speed or damage imo when you're starting out.
