Hi Guys,

I havent overclockerd as yet but thought it would be prudent to stress test a stock speed before overclocking to ensure all my new hardware was running alright.

Using prime 95 i got an error on worker thread 4 (i have a Q6600) saying:

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
hardware faliure detected, consult stress.txt file

I looked for that file but it doesnt exist!

Is this something i should be worried about? Its currently only been built less than 24 hours ago.

Many thanks for your help.

Dont know if this is relivant but something also tripped my power off at the rcd last night while i was stress testing overnight.

I get this error but I'm running my q6600 3.4GHz.

Try running a gromacs test using orthas. This will test the CPU.

Are you using 4 sticks of Geil by any chance?

Although i get this error on blend, I've not had any stabuility issues at 3.4GHz

What PSU do you have and what voltage are you running your RAM at, try upping the RAM voltage if you're running at stock 1.8. If the PC is tripping the mains then it could be a faulty PSU.

I have a barand new Akasa one from overclockers. I havesensative electrics in my house anyway so it might not be the computer but its not done it in ages.l Could be coincidence so i'll monitor the situation on that.

The only thing i have done manually at the moment is set the ram timings as they came up as 5-5-5-15 when the ram is rated at 4-4-4-15. what will upping the voltage on the ram do?
