How does everyone deal with it? I am not normally stressed but recently its hit me hard.

I feel like I am going to explode, I am having to relocate for work (got to sell my current house and buy another one closer), my uncle died recently and I have moved into a new job and there is hell of a lot to learn (which I am also trying to do in my own time)

Now something has just tipped me over the edge - I have spent all weekend tidying up my house to make sure it looks nice (I have a viewing on Monday) and today my cousin (he rents a room from me) had his girlfriend over with his mate and his misses. Got home after work and the place is a tip. He knew I had the viewing........ Just spend the best part of 2 hours tidying it all up and there is still hell of a lot to do :(

I am already expecting the jokes on how to relieve myself so go ahead :p

Firstly, if he made the mess, he would be cleaning it up.

If he refuses, take a dump in his pillow case. ;)

LOL :D or give him a lot to drink wait till he passes out and drag him out side and lock the door :)

Lol I like the 2nd idea - I am too mad to even speak to him and he is currently in his room with the lights off, last thing I want to do is say something that I will regret.

Everyone deals with it differently but to be honest I have a stiff drink in the evening and try to make that on the days I am not working I am doing something completely different. Sometimes- in the case of car maintenance that makes me equally stressed but at least the stress is in a different context. I like the fact that when I am working on the car I am usually outside getting vageuly fresh air and vageuly exercising my muscles. I think the key is work hard, work smart and do something very different when you are not working.

You could take up a sport, I do various sports to help deal with it, mountain biking is the best tbh. Or you could do it through catharsis, like VeNT said.

could work but could also escalate stress a great deal
Maybe, video games have been shown as a way to outlet builtup agression which is essentialy stress, but I agree that something like CSS is likely to cause stress too.

Stress is not the easiest thing to deal with. It can manifest itself in the body in man ways. Almost everything either physical or metally "unusual" with the body that cant be explained via known diagnosis can be attributed to stress.

Dealing with it varies from person to person. Some find simply getting away from it all and letting the mind rest and sort itself out on its own works for them, others might buy a punch bag. Each to their own. Think about what you like doing, like going to the gym perhaps, or making something, Anything that takes your mind off the stresses that are getting to you. Try doing this / these things more often. Dont however let it be your only escape from things otherwise it becomes associated with stress and its effect is lost.

Simple thing like eating properly and drinking properly (water that is :D) help, if only a little, but will make the problems worse if you dont do them (eat/drink properly)

Write it all down, no matter how small and insignificant you think the thing might be (thing being anything thats on your mind) and then next to each entry, list what can be done about it, if anything. For example, your housemate/sitter whatever he is, cant remember, sorry. That is a problem easily solved if it gets that bad. People in the family passing is something however that does not have a solution attached, believe me, i know. - That i cant give advice on im afraid.

About all i can think of atm. Ill watch this thread :)

Woodsy :)

I know exactly how you feel, the tension inside becomes so great you think you're going to explode. Whatever you do don't resort to one or two drinks as they can quite easily become 3, 4, 5..... I've seen some people go down that road and it's not a pretty sight.
I personally deal with stress by doing exercise. I used to come home from work so wound up at times that I'd take it out on the people around me. It makes everyone miserable. I signed up to a gym a couple of months ago and the results are amazing. It's great to take out everything on those weights, you can let it all out while you improve your strength and fitness. It's a win-win situation :)

Although, sometimes you just need to get away from it all. I frequently travel home to Ireland where things are a bit more laid back, it's a great chance to relax. Get a change of scenery, even if its a weekend break. It'll work wonders.

@woodsy, is that a paintball sniper in your sig?! link please :D

As said theres a few good ways to relieve stress such as CS:S (but only if your good, otherwise can make things much worse :p). Had it not been so late I would have suggested playing a sport or something, maybe go for a run?

Indeed, Its an Anschutz .22 target rifle and if you shot someone with it you might kill them, raikiri, literally :D

Quite funny actually, so far two people have said nice paintball gun and two others have said nice rifle.

I want one! anyone care to buy it for me?! :D

Awww not if i'm really really careful :D

Although had it been a paintball gun imagine how stress relieving it could be as long as you didnt get caught.

If you really wanted a nice looking paint ball gun, im sure you could mod a compressed air, air rifle. But paint balls have all the aerodynamics of a slipper when not fired properly, so prob wont happen mate. Anyway guys, back on topic, man needs advice here. let your constructive juices flow. (ok that sounded all wrong. oh god what have i done)
