Stringy failure

Hi
Total beginner here, and just bought an Aquila C2.
All levelled several times, and printed out a calibration cube no problems.
Then I downloaded this photo holder from Thingiverse, and it's failed several times.
Is it just a bad design?
It goes fine until it gets to the "arms" or overhangs, and turns into a stringy mess.
Any ideas from the pic?

100% need supports, printers can not magically print things in fresh air

Try spending sometime watching utube vids, only millions to choose from, amazing what you can learn...

Surprised it did even that well without supports - though surprisingly I did manage to print a knight chess piece without supports which had overhangs after completely forgetting to set them in the software - not sure how.
