They know how to turn a mean custom pcb + their vrm is among the beefiest (scarce details about as yet so can't draw any more bold conclusions at the present moment).
So why release their card with the lowest base clock speed then? Surely they shoudl have the highest base?
Their clientle usually knows how to overclock their cards themselves.

It's a Genus of Owls, the original Asus Strix Cards are two fans and look like Owl eyes, not sure how a three fan version fits into this lineup.
Sure is, and if it retails under £600 I will buy it, as it will match my other components.

Just ordered the strix instead of the g1...cant wait to get it

Gibbo are you able to advise if there will be stock availability of the HOF today? I placed an order for one when it was due on the 7th, but cancelled it yesterday. If these are coming in today I think I will reorder.
HOF is expected first week of August.

The clocks are just the same as the other cheaper aftermarket cards. So why such a huge premium?

Probably because of this new process its using with totally automated assembly..which you would think would be cheaper because theres less human interaction but nope. Also, cause asus.

Because Asus took the time and trouble to Photoshop their images to make it look like the fans had LED's so it looked more attractive and fool potential buyers.
Someone has to pay for that!
