@rjk

still nothing on the ROG Gladius & GK2000 ? or are Asus making people keep quuiet about these

They hinted about the Gladius earlier today on facebook. thats why im asking

Is this like when Corsair bought Raptor and kept selling the products exactly as they were before, just with Asus and Strix? I'm confused because Strix is a line of Asus hardware, no? Just seems weird that they'd go away from ROG especially with, as far as I can tell, no Asus branding anywhere except the mousemats?

it does seem odd.

I am trying everything in my power to get ROG keyboards so that we have a full assortment of ROG peripherals in stock but I hit a brick wall every time I try to make an enquiry.

I know that OCUK customers associate ROG with the ultimate in performance motherboards and gaming hardware so a range of peripherals that extends that ethos is important for me as OcUK customers are generally high end enthusiasts and want a high end option rather than gamer peripherals.

The weird thing is... ASUS ROG have been hinting toward the GK2000 and the Gladius Peripherals for a long time easily 1Year+. They showed them at CES and Computex.

Then out of no where appears the following ranges without anything mentioned

#Strix - Full Range Keyboard, Mouse, Headset
#Echelon - Mouse & Keyboard

Its good to see these new Product lines apprearing from ASUS. But as you say ROG is associated with the Ultimate Preformance.
They have probably haven't done themselves any favours, releasing the higher End ROG Peripherals first would have made them more money.

Depending on price , once the GK2000 and Gladius become available, if they are too high people are going to go strix instead or possibly other brands.

On a 2nd note, as one of those people who has repeatidly asked for updates on this , we appreciate your presistance with trying to get more info and/or stock

Its just frustrating for me as a product manager seeing people so enthusiastic about getting their hands on the ROG stuff and I almost feel as though we have been palmed off with Strix. Not saying its bad stuff, as its certainly decent enough and is obviously very focused on gamers, but the ROG stuff is going to attract more followers as it is the longest established IP that Asus own.

Our customers associate it with being the best. People like 8Pack endorse ROG products etc.

I just dont understand why it is taking so long to get this to market.

I will obviously keep asking the question.

Be even nice if they were to at least release RRP prices etc

Just look at the stock issues the GX1000 Mouse had... i was after the black version for months went for steelseries in the end.

Then over last few weeks stock seems o be appearing for these mice just as they launch newer products very strange

I very keen in the keyboard... as asus have been developing it for nearly 2 years if not longer. the first sign of ROG mechanical keyboard was computex 2013
Below is the offical thread on the ROG Forums

Thats the thing though, there is zero info for this.

My UK account manager doesnt know anything, my UK distributor doesnt know anything.

I spoke to a Director at OcUK who has very strong connections at Asus and the reply was basically the same old story.

I have literally gone as high up as I can with this matter and had zero feedback.

apart from the above, I literally know exactly as much as you do. :(
