Strong thermal tape or epoxy?

This is what it looked like. Note, I think I used waaay too much here in hindsight btw, could have gotten away with much less just to hold these on, but it still cleaned up ok when I took them off when it came to it. But the less you apply the easier it will be to remove the sealant that remains attached to the card. Full disclosure, I've only ever had to do this once, and this was years ago, but the theory remains sound for these types of adhesive tape sinks which a) have a chance to fall off without, and b) you definitely don't want to be be permanently epoxied to a card.

edit: it goes without saying that whatever you be using to do this must not be electrically conductive in any way.

It was bog standard general purpose clear sealant that came in a small metal tube, smelled of vinegar, from RS Components. Nothing special about it. It is pretty universal stuff, but anything rubbery that sets will do the same job.
