Struggling to decide on a spec, help please..

I was going to get that case and PSU but then it went out of stock as you said (seems a bit daft seeing as there are plenty of the cases and PSUs available individually). Is there a better PSU I should get for £57? Alternatively will the Antec Trupower 430W one I linked to earlier be sufficient and should I therefore save myself £57?

Final question (well maybe...). Should I spend an extra £26 and get the Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P AM3 motherboard, purely for upgradeability reasons? I assume the DDR2 memory will still work in that motherboard but I'm just thinking perhaps it might be a better option as it at least gives me the option to upgrade to DDR3 and is probably better suited to CPU upgrades? I really need to get this ordered or I'm going to keep going round in circles like this forever but for the sake of £26 I can't help thinking it's gotta be worth it.

go for the bundled coolermaster 335 and akasa PSU, here, the board would allow better upgradability for future but no it wont take DDR2 RAM, you'd have to get DDR3, like this Corsair stuff, which is another £20, so incl mobo its £46 extra, but you'll save most of that with the case/psu bundle, so I'd go for it personally

The 335 and akasa PSU bundle is out of stock though. Might have gone for the motherboard if I hadn't also needed to get DDR3 ram but I think I'd rather stick to the cheaper DDR2 set up for now. In all likelihood my next upgrade will be to the future equivalent of the Core i7 920 but that won't be for 3 years or so..

hmmmm, well I'm now getting cold feet cos I'm confused about whether 64 bit Vista or 64 bit Windows 7 is going to work with all the software I use for blu-ray ripping and re-encoding. Basically I use ToNMT and AnyDVDHD to rip my blu-ray discs and then Ripbot264 to re-encode them (which uses FFDSHOW and Haali Media Splitter). From what I've read so far it doesn't seem there's a 64 bit Haali Media Splitter available so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to do what I want to do if I go to a 64 bit operating system. I suppose I could just install the 32 bit version of Windows 7 but as I was upgrading I'd always assumed going to a 64 bit operating system would be part and parcel of that. Looks like I've got more research to do before I click on the checkout button!
