Gaming is priority, BF3, BF4, arma 3 (love these games)

Wanting FPS of 40+ @ 1080p (preferably 60fps)

And My cheaper AMD build

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Boost OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card £149.99
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK) £55.99
1 x Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £53.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX) £49.99
1 x Zalman Z9 Windowed Tower Case - Black £38.4
1 x OcUK 20x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £11.99
1 x Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 Pro Rev.2 CPU Cooler £8.99
Total : £473.42 (includes shipping : £11.75).

As you can see there is a £140 difference. I am thinking I could put this to use on a better graphics card.

Would that be necessary for my requirements?

Go for the Intel build. Would agree with Fowler002 on the PSU. If you're buying this week then buy the extra fan but if not buy the Zalman Z9 plus for £5 extra and ditch the Arctic fan.

i would go with the intel build but you might want to get a aftermarket cooler like a coolermaster hyper 212 evo

Its a good case for the money. Try sending and email overclockers to see when it will be back in stock. I wouldn't of thought it will be too long.
