Would like to hear peoples input on these two laptops, one of which I plan to buy.

They are both just under the £600 mark and are both Samsung.

Which laptop has the better processing power CPU and GFX wise?
I don't know much about i3 /i5 etc but it seems like the i3 may be better especially since its paired with 1066mhz ddr3 memory as oppossed to the core2 800mhz?

Which graphics card is more powerful? I can't find much info about the N11P-GE.

I think everything else is more or less the same apart from the aesthetics! I definately like the R522 sleekness but also the inside of the R580. I havn't made my mind up on the outside of the R580 yet though.

Thoughts anyone?

i would get the core i3. newer chipset and has 4x logic processors

core 2 duo's have been out for 4 years, even my 1.6ghz corei7 processor is faster than a 2.8ghz core 2 duo

they both have low end graphics so it doesnt matter much

ok well it does matter to me, I know that the 4330 can play cod mw2 up to 50fps on pretty high settings. This and source games are the most up to date games I may play on the laptop so I want to know what the Geforce is like in comparison.

The newer samsung will be a lot better. And that graphics card is either the nvidia 310m or 330m. Some places on the web have labelled it incorrectly and there is some confusion. In short the r580 has better CPU, better graphics, better RAM, and is the one to go for.

I was considering getting the R580 but then ordered a dell studio as you get a lot more spec for the same money. I also got a really good deal on warranty. 3 years in home warranty for £19. Only bad thing about that is the graphics card 4570 is fairly dated compared to the rest of it.

Whatever you decide, good luck. and i hope you enjoy it.

I was thinking of getting the Samsung R522, it has the sata port that would be useful to me but glad I came across this post.
I didn't know/think of the Samsung R580. I don't think OKUK stock it, I was looking but could find it.
So, if I was going for a laptop I think it now might be the Samsung R580.
