Hi guys,

I'm just coming up to the tenth day of my 8mb broadband provisioning and I cannot for the life of me download at more than 200k/s.

I did a bt speed tester thing and it appears from my research around the net that my BRAS profile is wrong?

BT Speed Test said:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1829 kbps

Would the above results confirm this? If so how can I fix it?

Thanks for any help :)

Do it again on the 11th day.

Your BRAS profile there will not allow more than 2mb DL speed, so you are right.

If the IP profile still remains at 2000kbps after 10 days, give your ISP a ring and ask them to get it changed.

Im with UKFSN (Entanet) and this happened to me, they wont even consider looking at till after your '10 day training period'. Once I logged a support call it was changed within 30 mins.

Remember though that your sync speed is variable upon conditions, such as line length, quality and equipment.
