I ordered a monitor around 2 days ago and now it has 2 stuck pixels and a dead one already, have hardly used it, only for word processing atm, is there any way i can remove them, im kinda ticked off about it

could use a tft tester program, it usually cycles between different colours rapidy to loosen up the stuck pixels.

you could also rub them gently. :p

although the flashing programs do get rid off them, i heard they can sometimes give you more, its like a 70% chance it ll work

ATIorNvidia I hope you don't mind if i jump on your thread, but I have a similar problem. I ordered at Samsung 920N which arrived yesterday, and I've just noticed what I can only assume is a semi-dead pixel. On dark backgrounds is light blue, but on light (white) backgrounds its ok.

Will these pixel flashing programs work on something like that?

yes the flashing programs do work. if your screen gets worse then its because its a manufacturing fault with the screen.

the tft should last for a very long time and since watching videos playing games etc is basically colour cycling pixels then it should be no harm to the tft to use the flashing programs.

when i got my new tft i used the dead pixel tester i have to cycle colours on the tft for 1 hour, after that i carried on using the screen as normal.

Cyber-Mav which program did you use?

*edit - I have found one. Going to let it run for an hour.

ATIorNvidia I found one at http://www.dps.uk.com/freeware_DTP.htm which was simple and easy to use.

As you can see I'm fairly new, I'm sorry if posting this link is against the rules.

I've done some reading and according to Badass's guide, pixels developing during use is unlikely, so I'm pretty annoyed. I think this is a stuck pixel, shows up as blue on any background apart from white where it is fine. It's annoying though, given I've had the monitor 48 hours. Seriously considering returning it under the Distance Selling Act.

My situation seems to have improved overnight in that the stuck pixel now only displays under blue (wrong shade of blue) and black backgrounds. It's ok on red and green (using the program in my previous post). I ran the program for about 2 hours last night. It's still not perfect but its better. How likely is it for another one to appear? This one appeared 48hours after I started using it. Currently deciding if I should return this on Monday morning or not.
