maybe look at an audi a3 3.2? cheap for what they are with enough grunt to be fun and discrete enough that you can park it anywhere without concern.

Talking to a mate who has a 6 and he said it had good things done to it etc. Knowing me it won't be available any more or something.

A3 boot size is OK, but a little tight I think and the Mrs hates A3s, no idea why, she is weird. I'm not sure if she likes evos but as long as she doesn't hate them, I'm OK.
 
I average 24 out of mine with a wide mix of driving. On a run I can get ~30, when on track I can get sub 10 out of it :)

No other cars suggested in this thread are going to be that much better ;)

Yep you'd get pretty much exactly that from a scooby! Probably less from the Evo though?

Oooo. Thanks!! I thought they'd slurp a lot more then Subarus, but that does not sound bad at all! Do these come with AYC? I'm sure I read somewhere they do?
 
Most of them available are the proper versions with AYC, there's very few of the lower spec models without AYC.

Even if they do drink a little more fuel - they cost massively less to buy than something like an Evo or Impreza, so you'll have more money for fuel! ;)
