Stuck on Witcher

I've just spoke to the priest about gaining entrance into the city and he gave me a ring, but i cant find it in my inventory and i think i might have sold it to the merchant that sells/buys jewellery. Now i cant find him and i think the dogs killed him.

Am i screwed?

yes, get your DVD out and post it to me, I will install the game try it, and work out what you did wrong, then in 3 months I will post your game back with a written instruction how to complete the section your on.

Is it not in your unsellable quest items at the top of the inventory? Use the left and right arrows either side to cycle forward and back.

Yeah you might not have noticed but the quest item inventory has arrows on either side - scrollable

yeah i sold the ring then spent 2 hours looking for a specific "begger" that has a quest to give her White Gull. Frustrating.

Oooh I've only just started playing it, I got the ring well before I got it from Beardy Scottish man (sounds Scottish at least!), I found I had a nasty habit of chatting up old women for their secret recipies and old stories, there's an old woman somewhere in that village walking around (looks the same as the others), I think if you give her the right gift or do a little quest for her (can't remember exactly), then she says she's nicked the ring off the Rt Hon Rev, and gives it to you, must be worth a shot... was quite surprised to get it seeing as it was a quest item.
