I'm photographing a student architecture ball tonight for uni. Here is my kit:

Canon 5D MkII

Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM
Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L
Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM
Canon EF 70-200mm F/4.0 L IS USM
Canon EF 85 mm f/1.8 USM
Canon EF 135 mm f/2.0L USM
Sigma 150mm f2.8 APO EX DG HSM Macro

The current plan is to take the 24-70 and 135. Opinions?

What\how exactly are you covering it? Is it a PJ style memory of the night, or are you setting up with lights, a background and selling shots?

Just a some walk around after the meal during the bands and presentations. Nothing formal.

Only really want to take 2 lenses and the 24-70 is a must so its a toss up for second place really. I don't think the 16-35 would much more than the 24-70 and the same for the 85mm. I see the 135 as something a bit different, am I wrong?

Yeah the 24-70 would be good as a walk around, the 85 or 135 gives something different for shallower dof shots. 135 does give that extra reach. Is 24 going to be wide enough if you have to do any group shots?

they aren't doing group shots i've been told so shouldn't think will need anything wider than 24, even if i was id prob use 35mm for group shots anyway to prevent distortion.
