Student Deals

aint really any...with all the cash back offered, most ppl just get them.

there is a student mobile network though called dot mobile. they work in units, so you pay for certain number of units per month, and u can use them how u like...i.e. if u get one with 500 units, u can use them for calls, texts, mms, etc:

dont they use vodaphone for thier coverage?

They do indeed.
I'll be joining them soon, just need to make sure a few details before I get a 18 month contract with them. For the money one pays, it certainly sounds like the best deal for a student.

Those units are rolled over to the next month too, so e.g. 900 units per month, you use 400, you've got 500 to roll over to next month making a total of 1400 units. That's like 1400mins of calling (without even using the 60 minutes pay 3minutes deal) or 2800 of texting

Don't calls cost 2 units per minute though, meaning 700 minutes for 1400 units?

Vodafone have some student offers but I don't know what they are (helpful)

And as for that student mobile network mentioned above, looks suspiciously similar to the T-mobile FlexT tariffs? They look quite cool. Not technically a student deal though.

The dot mobile tariffs are based on what vodafone give you per month except you can vary the calls and texts and they roll over, which doesnt happen on a vodafone contract, so it seems quite good. not sure about what the CS is like though. Vodafone don't really do student deals at the moment AFAIK

I asked about student deals in the Vodaphone shop yesterday. The response was that "We used to, but have now stopped doing so as we offer some good value, cheap contracts."
