Student dentist

I wouldn't have a problem going to a student dentist, as has bene said before, they will be being watched like a hawk to make sure it's being down by the book, so I'd say you'd get a more comprehensive session / op

You can get root canals on NHS for about £300 last time I checked. Generally it’s advised to get them done privately but if money is tight…

The worst thing about being told you need a root canal is that you then have to get a crown as well which is another £800

NHS Dentist, no such thing in Devon, got chucked off the dental list years ago when our dentist returned to Europe, The Practice went from 7 dentists to 1.

I've seen a student dentist at a Dental school due to an acute tooth issue. They were supervised, final year before qualifying, and had no complaints or issues. I'd see one again!

I went twice to a student dentist and left feeling that I would rather take my chances with a rusty nail and a hammer. 4 and a half hours to remove a tooth and 11 injections later....

Then I got dry socket because they didn't pack it properly.

Second time was at the hospital and again multiple injections that didn't numb the pain at all, then the same thing again, infection that went into my jaw and put me in hospital for a week.

i am with an NHS dentist but they will only offer fillings at NHS prices. i need a root canal and they told me i just have to go private. i suppose i should really ask why..

you don't have to get a crown with a root canal, i'm getting one done and they will just be filling the tooth after the root canal.

as for the OP, i never thought of getting it done by a student, i'm going to be £1k out of pocket after this

I am lucky just went to see a dentist last week. £120 for a check up. So far no fillings on teeth, teeth in good condition in my 40s .
I have decided a long time ago, I should stop eating/ drinking anything that has added sugar or glucose etc... It is not worth the pain time and money.
