Currently i have the following a day:

9am - Cereal (Bran Flakes w/ Banana) + Glass of Orange Juice
12pm - Eggs on Toast
3pm - Sandwich + Digestive Biscuits
6pm - Pasta + Meat of some kind
9pm - Beans on Toast
A multivitamin to top it off before bed :D

Is that roughly a sensible diet for a 22 year old?

I have:

Breakfast - Usually skip, if I have it, I have cereal, poridge or toast (I'm working on having it more).
Lunch - Sandwich of some sort.
Dinner - Usually cook some meal which can range from a Spag Bol to stuffed peppers. I'm inventive :p
Supper - Usually not hungry but if I am, a sandwich will suffice.

- I usually have an apple or banana if one is around.

Your diet seems alright to me, but get rid of the tablets.

He's probably trying to put on weight/build muscle which is why it was suggested for intense exercise.

It's the right kind of food to eat though. Might be better off asking for advice in Sports forum as they seem to have good advice.

Maybe replace the sandwich for supper with some fruit

too much bread = bad

seems like a high protein and carboydrate diet. eating eggs every day isnt good for you.. too much cholesterol. same goes for beans (= flatulence probs ;)) you do seem lean on your fruit and veg which i would increase. also, fish is a good source of essential vitamins and omega 3 oils.. healthy food = healthy mind which is very important for a student :p

i hope your 6pm and 9pm meals are small otherwise you are overeating. smaller meals and more often is much better than big meals and fewer times a day.

Change the Bran Flakes for porridge oats (cheaper)
Change the orange juice to water
If you want eggs on toast, leave the yolk, for that matter, leave the toast, have bagels.
Have fruit at 3pm
Ensure the pasta is pref. wholemeal
Make sure the multivit. is with minerals, otherwise the absorption of the vits. may not happen.

Other than that, i've seen and eaten worse diets. Vary it. Buy a recipe book for students. Talk to your doctor about it.

I've changed your diet around to what it should be, conisdering you're a student

9am - Pot Noodle
12pm - Pot Noodle
3pm - Pot Noodle
6pm - Pot Noodle
9pm - Pot Noodle
And a Pot Noodle to top it off before bed

:D

I'd rather eat the dog food. ;)

8 chicken breasts in ASDA are £4 and you can get 6 tins of john west Tuna for £2.30, a bag of spuds, some fruit n veg onions n mayo for your tuna, beans, porrage oats, packets of soup and you've got a whole weeks shopping for well under £20

AWESOME guys, nice one.

I'm a drummer (heavy, fast hitter, so a constant 3hr session will take it's toll!), practice twice a week and gig occasionally. To counteract this i have a very high metabolism, i weigh just under 10st and am 5"11... basically just above underweight with a BMI of 18.9. 18.5 and below is classed as underweight for my height. :(

I've tried and tried to put on weight, but i just can't seem to do it. All your advice is welcome though, i'm glad a lot of you have seen my diet as too much! I will have to endeavour to buy more fruit though. Chaars all! :D

Beans on toast is very good for you and cheap. Make sure you use wholemeal bread though.

Porridge is an excellent food and is always cheap so perhaps replace those expensive cereals with that and you will be on a good footing.
