I guess this is of less interest to you guys then over at OCAU, but I never know. Comments welcome.

1) Shot from the hip on the tube. The next frame she is smiling, but the train started to slow down, and I cut most of the top of her head off.

2) Shot during Chinese New year Celebrations in Trafalgar square.

3) Since I spend so much time on trains here, here is one waiting for the train.

4) Hiding from my camera on the train.

5) When you go up an escalator people have to come down. Sometimes they even smile for you.

6) Sitting outside town hall, where there is actually a Macdonald's inside.

7) Stall owner in Camdon market

Nice candid photography, one day I'll pluck up the courage to do this!
6 and 7 are the highlights for me, except 7 needs a little more contrast, it feels a little light.

ha, I was up in Camden having a wonder round this afternoon...

Some nice shots, though I have to question whether I'd like people taking shots like the escalator ones of me, I dunno about the legal permission issues etc but that aside I'm not sure I'd be happy...depends on my mood that day i suppose...

last one is the best for me...

This is a no risk situation. If they are not happy, they can either turn away, or be mad, but then you are gone in a split second and it is over. At least that is how I think of it.

If you're in public you're fair game, iirc.

Someone post the A4 card that shows your rights and responsibilities as a photographer please

absolutely, I was more saying I wouldn't do it personally because of that, but if you're cool with it then why not!

Taking candids of people in public is one brave thing, but to do it on the tube in London is surely madness! ;)

Nice collection.

I didn't think you were allowed to take photos of the underground?

Nice shots though, 1 and 7 are my favourites

You are but need a permit. When requesting the permit you also need to state the times you will be arriving and leaving and the station(s) you will be photographing.

they have no problem with casual photography, just look at all the tourists..

however, flash photography is absolutely banned no matter how nicely you ask...and tripods are rather frowned upon too.
