So I was all set to pick up an ASUS GTX 1080 Ti, but they (Not OCUK) had stock issues and would have meant waiting over a month. So, now I am still in GPU limbo.

I mainly play at 1080P / 1440P, not 4K.

We're getting closer to RX 580, revised GTX 1060/70/80 and AMD VEGA..

Should I just wait or pick up something sooner? (Got a 780 to use in meantime) Can't decide xD

Depends how desperate you are, you could pick up a used 980ti to use until the newer cards come out and then sell it back on, you'd probably not lose too much in depreciation if you buy at the right price.

I never like waiting unless theres confirmed dates, lifes too short to be hanging around for computer hardware!

Wait. The 500 AMD series will be out in April so a few more weeks and might have an impact on current 1000 series Nvidia cards.

Vega should be here within the next 8 weeks.

So in total we are looking at 1-2 months for cards.

If Vega is due in the next few months, I'm sure Nvidia will have something up their sleeve. As I said in the other thread :o I sure as hell wouldn't be paying £800-900 for a GTX1080ti, epsecially if you can get a used 1080 for £400 or less.

Pushing £900 for a GPU says Nvidia are taking the **** to the extreme - while they still can get away with it.

Thanks for the comments guys. Just seen the latest VEGA slides (Legit or not lol) and decided am going to wait it out until more cards are released and see how price performance landscape settles. My wallet will surely thank me in the meantime. Cheers.

I bought last week 980ti on eBay for £220. It is difficult to get it fore that price but with a little patience and luck you can. I had 780ti that I sold on eBay for £160. So it only cost me extra £60 + eBay fees to swap the cards and performance in 1440p is extra 20-25 fps and double the size of VRAM. Why I am telling you that? Because if you are looking for something on budget (like I did) swaping from 780 to 980ti will not cost you much. Also, you will not loose much on 980 ti if you get it for the right price, maybe even ,make some money when you decide to sell it :D.

Grab a 1080 Ti you know you are going to have one for a few weeks at some point.:)

Those slides are rubbish, was an April fools by Wccf.

If buying a 1080, then id buy one now, as their prices are getting whacked back up to over £500 in the next few weeks, and AMDs 480s are going up by £100+ as well
