awesome awesome machine, wouldnt mind driving that about, wonder what the handling will be like with that engine up front, hopefully not changed too drastically.

Nothing fancy, but it'd be nice if it didn't look like a scrap yard in there! I mean where's the steering wheel cover thing in the middle?!

Thats not of it completed. If you read the description you will see that they dont have pictures of the inside.

ITs got carbon fibre incerts in the doors and racing seats and harneses

I thought the same, if he done such a great job you think he would want to show it off with some nice pictures.

But then he does seem to be trying to drum it into people to come and see it before they bid, I assume both so that he knows the bidder is serious and so the bidder can see how good it actually is. If your trying to scam someone you wouldnt really spend that much time getting people to see the car.

I don't think it's a scam.

Well it had to happen sooner or later ;)

Shame it's been ruined with tatty wheels etc... but it's nothing that can't be easily rectified.
OI!
actually i quite like the wheels.
just noticed the motor is dry sumped too.yum yum.

as the guy says the car cost £120k to develop i can only imagine what the reserve is, but the bottom line is someone is going to get themselves a LOT of car for that.

hmm the bidding just keeps on going up, I think most people will just bid in the last 10 seconds.

The interior is ripe for a Halfords spending spree. Seriously though theres got to be something wrong with it, selling it on flea bay? For significantly less than they paid for it.... scam city

Well there's no accounting for taste! :p

It would be interesting to see what the reserve is set at... Do you reckon he's set it anywhere near the development costs?

This has been discussed on Bm3w for the last couple of days, consensus was that there has to be something seriously wrong with a project car thats never been driven or registered on the road - especially when its supposed to be a performance drivers car. It looks pretty fishy to me, and if I was going to spend that much money I'd buy a proper M3 CSL built by BMW with a warranty - and that would cost me less!

Stunning looking car, but, I think if I was able to afford & want a car like that, I'd build it to my spec, not a spec from an internet auction site!

My #1 starting point would be the M5's V10!

On the other hand, if I had that kind of wealth to spend on my track toy, I don't suppose I'd really be bothered either way!

someone bought a Learjet on Ebay for 2 million....significantly less than what it cost.
just because it's cheaper doesn't necessarily mean theres something bogus going on.project cars ALWAYS go for less than they cost to build.
anyone remember the Reyland Metro for example?

i'm not so sure.
that's the behaviour of the typical bay member, however i doubt this will be bought by someone like that after all, we bid at the last minute to pip the next guy to the post.somehow i don't think those tactics will be necessary on something so expensive.

gazes at Freefaller and reminds himself that a 9mm round costs approximately 22p.
hmm

;)

my gut feeling is the reserve will be somewhere around £80k.
in reality, apart from the seller, who knows?

and you would be getting "less" too.

if the car was built as a prototype then it's perfectly feasible that it wouldn't have been driven yet.
remember it's never been registered, therefore it has been purchased new from the factory so why do people think there is something wrong here?

I certainly wouldn't part with that sort of money for that. It's a project car with no warranty. The thing about project cars is that they are experimental, that means things can, and usually do, go wrong. It's being sold with zero miles, so has it ever been tested, or are they resetting it back to zero for the buyer. If so, is that even legal?

Where did the engine come from? Is it brand spanking new from BWM, or taken from a wrecked M5, if so how many miles did it do before being fitted?

There are just so many bits about this that make it, in reality, just an old CSL that someone has stripped out and shoehorned an M5 engine in. While that's pretty cool in itself, I don't think it's worth more than a new CSL.

Also, the development costs are supposed to have topped £120k, How?

Even if the car is new, paying out for a brand new CSL and a brand new M5 engine leaves around £50k left to be spent... £50k to swap an engine?? Sounds a lot to me. I can slap a rover V8 in the spit for a damn site less than that.

Dont forget they have Carbon fibre body shell and they probably uprated the engine internals aswell. That would raise the price a bit more.
