Can the item location be auto generated so it looks like they are in the same location as the buyer?

Unlikely as from my brief experience the location is set at sign up. I can't find anything about ebay changing it dynamically.

Easiest way if its not too embarrassing post the link to what you're buying and we can see if it changes location for us.

Are you sure, are you really 100% this can't be done?

Well, put it this way. I have some connections in China who have been trying to do this for years. They sell those cat monitors. This would be very beneficial for them and increase their sales overnight.

They haven't managed to pull it off. It MIGHT be possible, but I very much doubt it.

do they say anywhere "uk stock" as i know some sellers in god knows where that also advertise stock in the uk.

unless its the ff8 griever zippo lighter i wont steal it :p

They might have a dispatch centre in Stoke.

Also, there are reasons I don't touch eBay with a barge pole. If you knew half of the shenanigans that people try / do, you probably wouldn't either.

If I understand you correctly they're trying to misrepresent their location to get sales they they wouldn't get if the buyers knew their true location.

That's basically what I said. These guys have LOT of confidence in their shippers and RM.

As I said, it's possible that they have a depot in Stoke. Many sellers have depots in foreign countries which cater for that country. It's much cheaper to ship a pallet of goods over and split it into single orders in the UK than to ship each individual item from China.

That said, these "depots" are usually chinese takeaway shops or the like where the owners want to make a few quid on the side or are family.

It's not rare.

I'm not trying to tell you that it's not a scam, merely informing you of how things tend to work when dealing with Chinese sellers. I deal with them a lot.

Whatever faith they have they shouldn't pretend they're a UK based seller.

People buying from what appears to be a UK location wouldn't be impressed when they got the bill for the import VAT.
